1. Introduction and Overview

The Drill Doctor DD750X Electric Drill Bit Sharpener is designed to restore the sharpness of your twist drill bits, extending their lifespan and improving drilling performance. This professional system can sharpen bits from 3/32" to 3/4" and is compatible with high-speed steel, masonry, carbide, cobalt, and tin-coated bits. 3.1 Determining Drill Bit Angle

If the bit's angle closely matches the angle formed by the two nuts, it is likely a 118-degree bit (common standard). If the bit's angle is sharper and does not align perfectly, it may be a 135-degree bit (often used for harder materials). The DD750X can sharpen bits to angles between 115 and 140 degrees.

3.2 Sharpening a Drill Bit

1. Insert the drill bit into the 3/4" chuck, leaving it slightly loose.
2. Place the chuck with the bit into the Alignment Port. Align the bit's cutting edge with the designated notch.
3. Tighten the chuck to secure the bit.
4. Transfer the chuck and bit to the Dual Cam Sharpening Port.
5. Turn on the sharpener. Gently rotate the chuck back and forth while applying light pressure until the grinding sound becomes consistent and then fades, indicating the bit is sharpened.

3.3 Creating/Restoring a Split Point

After sharpening, you can create or restore a split point for improved drilling performance and to prevent bit wandering. Use the Splitting Port for this process. Follow the instructions in the video below for a visual guide.
