Carbon monoxide (CO) is an invisible, odorless, and tasteless gas that can be fatal. Explosive gases like methane and propane are also highly dangerous. This alarm is designed to provide early warning of their presence. In the event of an alarm, immediately move to fresh air and contact emergency services (e.g., 911 or your gas provider).

The GCO1CN alarm operates by plugging directly into a standard AC wall outlet. Ensure the outlet is not controlled by a switch. A 9-volt battery (included) provides backup power in case of an electrical outage. Install the battery before plugging the unit into the wall.

Explosive gases are typically lighter than air (methane) or heavier than air (propane), so placement should consider the type of gas being monitored. The backlit digital display shows the current level of carbon monoxide or explosive gas detected. It can also show peak levels recorded since the last reset. Refer to the display for immediate readings and historical data.
