The Aiphone KB-3MRD Audio/Video Master Station is a core component of the KB Series Intercom System, designed to facilitate audio and video communication with visitors at entry points. Its features include a handset for private communication, a 4-inch LCD color monitor for visitor identification, and controls for door station camera tilt.

2.1 Mounting the Master Station

Utilize the provided mounting hardware to securely install the KB-3MRD master station in your desired location. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and allows for proper cable routing.

The KB-3MRD master station connects to door stations and sub-master stations using appropriate wiring. Refer to the wiring diagram in the full installation guide for specific connections.

• Master to Door Station: Maximum allowable distance is 330 feet using 22 AWG wire, or 650 feet using 18 AWG wire.
• Master to Sub-Master Station: Maximum allowable distance is 165 feet using 22 AWG wire, or 330 feet using 18 AWG wire.
• Master Station to Call Extension Speaker: Maximum allowable distance is 165 feet using 22 AWG wire, or 330 feet using 18 AWG wire.

To speak with a visitor, lift the slim handset. This establishes a private audio connection with the calling door station.

3.6 Adjusting Volumes

The chime and audio volumes for communication are adjustable on the master station. Refer to the control panel for volume adjustment buttons.

3.7 All-Call Function
