This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the Uriah Products UW000545 Replacement Trailer Hub Kit. This kit is designed for #84 spindles and features a 5-bolt pattern on a 4-1/2" bolt circle, accommodating 1-1/16" and 1-3/8" inner diameter bearings. Follow these steps for proper installation of the trailer hub kit:

1. Prepare the Spindle: Ensure the #84 spindle is clean and free of debris or old grease. Inspect the spindle for any damage or wear.
2. Install Inner Bearing: Pack the larger L68149 bearing with high-temperature wheel bearing grease. Insert the packed bearing into the inner race of the hub.
3. Install Grease Seal: Carefully tap the 12192TB double-lipped grease seal into the back of the hub until it is seated flush. Ensure the seal is not bent or damaged during installation.
4. Mount Hub onto Spindle: Slide the hub assembly onto the #84 spindle. Be careful not to damage the grease seal on the spindle threads.
5. Install Outer Bearing: Pack the smaller L44649 bearing with high-temperature wheel bearing grease. Insert the packed bearing into the outer race of the hub.
6. Install Washer and Spindle Nut: Place the flat washer over the spindle, then thread on the spindle nut.
7. Adjust Bearing Preload: Tighten the spindle nut to approximately 50 ft-lbs while rotating the hub to seat the bearings. Then, loosen the nut until it is finger-tight. Re-tighten the nut to 10-15 ft-lbs. Back off the nut one castellation (or 1/6 to 1/4 turn) until the cotter pin can be inserted. The hub should spin freely with minimal end play.
8. Secure Spindle Nut: Insert a new cotter pin through the spindle nut and spindle hole, bending the ends to secure it.
9. Install Grease Cap: Tap the drive-in grease cap into the center of the hub.
10. Install Wheel Studs and Nuts: If not pre-installed, press the 1/2" wheel studs into the hub. Mount the wheel onto the hub and secure it with the five 1/2" wheel nuts, tightening them to the trailer manufacturer's recommended torque specifications in a star pattern.

Once installed, the trailer hub operates as part of your trailer's wheel assembly. Ensure proper tire inflation and load distribution for safe towing. Regularly check wheel nuts for proper torque, especially after the first 50 miles of towing with new hubs.
