1. Unscrew the tail cap of the penlight by turning it counter-clockwise.
2. Insert two (2) AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure the positive (+) pole of the batteries faces towards the penlight bulb (towards the head of the penlight).
3. Screw the tail cap back onto the penlight by turning it clockwise until it is securely fastened.
