4.4. Install the CPU Block/Pump

For Intel Sockets (LGA 1700/2066/2011/1151/1150/1155/1156/1200):
- Attach the correct Intel mounting bracket to the pump unit.
- Install the Intel backplate behind your motherboard, aligning the holes with the CPU socket.
- Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the center of your CPU if it's not pre-applied on the cold plate.
- Carefully place the pump unit onto the CPU, aligning the mounting holes with the backplate standoffs.
- Secure the pump unit with the provided thumb screws, tightening them in a diagonal pattern until snug. Do not overtighten.
For AMD Sockets (AM5/AM4):
- Remove the plastic retention clips from the stock AMD backplate (keep the stock backplate).
- Attach the correct AMD mounting bracket to the pump unit.
- Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the center of your CPU if it's not pre-applied on the cold plate.
- Carefully place the pump unit onto the CPU, aligning the mounting holes with the stock AMD backplate.
- Secure the pump unit with the provided thumb screws, tightening them in a diagonal pattern until snug. Do not overtighten.
