The meter requires one 9V 6F22 battery (not included).

5.2 Zeroing the Meter

Before each measurement, especially when changing materials or environments, it is crucial to zero the meter for accurate readings.

1. Ensure the probe is clean and not in contact with any material.

3. If the value is not 0.00%, rotate the rotary dial to adjust the display value to be between ±0.05%. This corrects for species or material variations.

5.3 Selecting Material (Species Correction)

The rotary dial allows you to select from 10 different levels (0-10) for species correction, depending on the material being measured. This helps in achieving more accurate results for diverse materials.

1. Identify the type of material you are measuring (e.g., plastic, resin, hay).
2. Rotate the rotary dial to the appropriate setting (0-10) that best matches your material. Refer to specific material guidelines if provided by the manufacturer for optimal settings.

1. Perform the zeroing procedure as described in Section 5.2.
2. Select the appropriate material setting using the rotary dial.
3. Carefully insert the probe into the material to be measured. Ensure the first 10mm (sensitive area) of the probe is in full contact with the object.
4. Hold the probe steady. The moisture reading will appear on the LCD display within approximately 1 second.
5. Record the reading.
6. Remove the probe from the material.

Important: Avoid touching the probe during measurement and ensure no metal objects are near the probe to prevent interference.
