Assembly of the Spalding NBA Portable Basketball System requires two adults and approximately 2-4 hours. Tools required (not included): adjustable wrench, socket wrench set, ladder, level.

4.2 Base Assembly and Filling

1. Position the portable base in the desired location for assembly.
2. Fill the base completely with water or sand. Water is easier to fill but sand provides more stability and is less prone to freezing. Ensure the fill cap is securely closed.

4.5 Height Adjustment Mechanism Setup

Install the screw jack lift mechanism onto the pole as directed in the assembly guide. Ensure the detachable handle operates smoothly and securely engages the adjustment system.

5.1 Adjusting the Height

The system features a screw jack lift for height adjustment from 7.5 feet to 10 feet.

1. Insert the detachable handle into the screw jack mechanism.
2. Rotate the handle clockwise to raise the backboard and rim, or counter-clockwise to lower them.
3. Adjust to the desired height. Ensure the mechanism is fully engaged and stable before use.

5.2 Moving the System

The portable base is equipped with 2 wheels for easy relocation.

3. Slowly roll the system to the new desired location.
