The Speed-Feed 450 Trimmer Head is designed for quick and easy line reloading without requiring disassembly. It can hold up to 20 feet of 0.095" line, with a maximum line size of 0.130".

4.1. Quick Line Reloading Steps

1. Ensure the trimmer is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected.
2. Align the arrows on the top plate of the trimmer head with the eyelet holes where the line exits.
3. Feed a new length of trimmer line through one eyelet hole until it comes out the opposite eyelet.
4. Pull the line through until you have an even amount of line extending from both sides of the head.
5. Hold the top plate of the trimmer head steady with one hand. With the other hand, rotate the bottom part of the head in a clockwise direction. The line will automatically wind into the spool.
6. Continue rotating until only about 6 inches of line extends from each side of the trimmer head.

4.2. Advancing Trimmer Line

To advance the trimmer line during operation, lightly tap the bottom of the trimmer head on the ground while the trimmer is running at a moderate speed. The bump-feed mechanism will release more line.
