Welcome to your AcuRite Wireless Indoor Outdoor Temperature Sensor. This manual provides essential information to help you set up, operate, and maintain your device, ensuring accurate temperature readings for your indoor and outdoor environments.

The wireless sensor requires 2 AA alkaline or lithium batteries (not included). For optimal performance in temperatures below -4°F (-20°C), use lithium batteries.
- Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the sensor.
- Insert 2 fresh AA batteries, observing the polarity markings (+/-).

If pairing with a compatible AcuRite display unit, ensure batteries are also installed in the display unit according to its specific instructions.

For accurate temperature readings, place the wireless sensor in a location that is:

4.1. Pairing the Sensor with a Display Unit
Once batteries are installed in both the sensor and the display unit, the sensor will automatically attempt to connect to the display. This process may take a few minutes. If the display does not show outdoor temperature readings after several minutes, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
4.2. Reading Temperature
The sensor transmits temperature readings to your compatible AcuRite display unit. Refer to your display unit's manual for specific instructions on how to view indoor and outdoor temperatures, as well as any high/low records.

This function is typically controlled by the display unit. Consult your display unit's instruction manual for details on how to switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).

Replace batteries in the wireless sensor when the low battery indicator appears on your display unit. Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries. For optimal performance in temperatures below -4°F (-20°C), use lithium batteries.

6.1. No Outdoor Temperature Display
If your display unit is not showing outdoor temperature readings, try the following steps:
- Ensure batteries are correctly installed in both the wireless sensor and the display unit.
- Verify the sensor is within the 165-foot (50-meter) range of the display unit.
- Relocate the sensor and/or display unit to minimize interference from electronic devices, large metal surfaces, or thick walls.
- Perform a hard reset: Remove batteries from both units, wait 1 minute, then reinsert batteries into the sensor first, followed by the display unit. Allow several minutes for connection.

6.2. Inaccurate Temperature Readings
If you suspect inaccurate readings:
- Ensure the sensor is placed out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
- Verify the sensor is protected from direct moisture.
- Compare readings with a known accurate thermometer placed next to the sensor for a short period.
