5. Training Guidelines

Effective training with the PetSafe Remote Trainer requires consistency and positive reinforcement. Start with the lowest effective stimulation level and gradually increase if necessary. Always pair the stimulation with a command and praise your dog for correct responses.

• Begin training in a quiet, distraction-free environment.
• Use the tone or vibration functions as initial warnings before applying static stimulation.
• The static stimulation should be used as a deterrent for unwanted behaviors, not as punishment.
• Keep training sessions short and positive.
• Never leave the collar on your dog for more than 12 consecutive hours.
