4.2 Rear-Facing Installation (InRight™ LATCH)

This method is suitable for infants within the specified weight and height limits. If the combined weight of your child and the car seat exceeds 65 pounds, use the vehicle seat belt for installation.

1. Remove the InRight™ LATCH connectors from storage and extend the strap to its maximum length.
2. Place the car seat rear-facing on the vehicle seat, ensuring at least 80% of the car seat base rests on the vehicle seat.
3. Adjust the recline to position 1, 2, or 3, ensuring the level indicator's bubble is completely within the blue zone.
4. Attach both InRight™ LATCH connectors to the vehicle's lower anchors. Listen for a click to confirm connection.
5. Pull on the LATCH connectors to ensure they are secure.
6. Press down firmly in the center of the car seat while tightening the LATCH strap to remove all slack.
7. Perform the tightness test: The car seat should not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

4.3 Forward-Facing Installation (Vehicle Belt Lock-Off)

This method is suitable for toddlers within the specified weight and height limits.

1. Place the car seat forward-facing on the vehicle seat, ensuring at least 80% of the car seat base rests on the vehicle seat.
2. Unhook the top tether strap from storage and place it over the front of the car seat for easy access.
3. Recline the car seat to position 4 or 5, as appropriate for your child.
4. Store the LATCH connectors at the front of the car seat.
5. Loosen the harness straps and raise the headrest up. Unbuckle the chest clip and the buckle.
6. Lift the headrest pad flap up and undo the lower snaps on the seat pad to expose the back of the car seat.
7. Open the integrated belt lock-off.
8. Thread the vehicle seat belt through the forward-facing belt path, marked with an orange label. Buckle the seat belt, ensuring it lies flat and is not twisted.
9. Tighten the seat belt by pressing down firmly in the center of the car seat and pulling on the shoulder belt.
10. When the seat belt is tight, close and lock the lock-off. Ensure both the lap belt and shoulder belt are routed under the lock-off.
11. Replace the seat pad and move the headrest to the proper position for your child.
12. Attach the top tether strap to your vehicle's tether anchor point (refer to your vehicle owner's manual for location) and remove all slack.
13. Perform the tightness test: The car seat should not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

4.4 Booster Mode Transition

When transitioning to booster mode, the harness straps can be stored in the dedicated harness storage compartment located behind the seat pad. This keeps the harness safely stored while not in use.

5.1 Adjusting Harness Height

The No-Rethread Simply Safe Adjust™ Harness System allows you to adjust the headrest and harness together. Simply squeeze the handle at the top of the headrest and slide it up or down to the desired position. For rear-facing, harness slots should be at or below the child's shoulders. For forward-facing, harness slots should be at or above the child's shoulders.

5.2 Adjusting Recline

The car seat features a 6-position recline. To adjust, locate the recline handle at the front of the car seat base, lift it, and move the seat to the desired recline position. Ensure the recline is appropriate for the chosen mode of use and your child's comfort.

If the car seat moves more than one inch at the belt path after installation, it is not installed securely. Ensure the level indicator is within the blue zone for rear-facing installation.

7.2 Harness Straps Too Loose

If you can pinch excess webbing at your child's shoulder after tightening the harness, the straps are too loose. Ensure the harness is properly routed, the headrest is at the correct height, and pull the front adjuster strap firmly until a snug fit is achieved. The chest clip should always be at armpit level.
