3.1 Recommended Placement:
- Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, including the basement.

- Avoid placing alarms within 6 feet of cooking appliances or 20 feet of furnaces to prevent nuisance alarms.

- Press and hold the Test-Hush button on the front of the alarm for a few seconds. The alarm will sound a loud, pulsating tone (3 beeps, repeating) and the red LED will flash. Release the button to stop the test.
