1. Open your Z-Wave gateway hub's mobile application or interface.
2. Initiate the "Add Device" or "Pair Device" process within your hub's settings.
3. Locate the QR code on the back of your First Alert alarm unit.
4. Use your hub's app to scan the QR code. The Smart Start feature will automatically begin the pairing process.
